THE TIME IS NOW...PRIMARYPLUS SETS DATE FOR OPENING OF BRACKEN COUNTY OFFICE
(June 5, 2009) After much anticipation, PrimaryPlus has finally received the green light for the opening of its Bracken County location. The healthcare facility which will provide care for all ages from infants to elders will be celebrating its Grand Opening with a Backyard Barbecue on Friday, June 19th from Noon to 2 PM. The event will kick-off with a ribbon cutting ceremony at Noon and then will include a chance to greet the medical providers, schedule appointments, enjoy free food, free health screenings and free giveaways. The office will officially open its doors to start seeing patients on Monday, June 22nd.
PrimaryPlus, which is part of the Lewis County Primary Care Center family headquartered in Vanceburg, KY, operates as a non-profit Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC). The PrimaryPlus network which celebrated its 25th anniversary last fall continues to stand strong on its founding mission of quality, advanced, affordable healthcare. The addition of the Bracken County office, only strengthens their mission and their drive to ensure affordable healthcare outlets to patients regardless of their financial situation.
Over the last several months, PrimaryPlus has been working with designated government agencies to secure the opening of the 1551 Augusta Chatham Rd. location. As a Federally Qualified Health Center, this is required when opening a new facility...it is called “change of scope.” Basically this is a multi-step approval process that in the end will provide the organization with the designated funding and perks of being a FQHC such as the sliding fee scale that provides up to a 75% discount for uninsured/underinsured families if approved and 340B pharmacy program that provides a discount on medication to PrimaryPlus patients.
“We, as well as many of the citizens of Bracken County, have been anxiously awaiting approval to open our Bracken County site from the government. The time has now arrived and we are so excited. PrimaryPlus thanks everyone for their patience and the welcome hospitality we have received thus far in the process and looks forward to serving the patients of the area and being part of such a historical, close-knit community.” states Jerry Ugrin, CEO of PrimaryPlus.
The PrimaryPlus-Bracken County office will include the medical staffing of many familiar faces to the area including Dr. Steve Neus, Dr. Harold Markesbery, Dr. Nancy Guttman, and Dr. Isabel Del Castillo de Calvo. PrimaryPlus will offer family health services for all ages. They will also work with the PrimaryPlus-Maysville Pharmacy to offer the 340B pricing (which offers reduced cost on medications) to PrimaryPlus patients. PrimaryPlus accepts most insurance, KY & OH Medicare/Medicaid, and offers the sliding fee scale to uninsured/underinsured families. Office hours are still being finalized, but evening hours will be available throughout the week. To learn more about the PrimaryPlus organization visit www.primaryplus.net.
